The Local Wolves talked about mental health (depression, disorders, anxieties, etc.) on their issue last May and for the first time in my photography career, my photo got published! Hurray!
It all started when I invited my close friend, Pol, in a collaboration as co-conceptual photographers to create a photoset that would depict our understanding of what 'depression' is about and submit it for the said issue.
Here's the photo that was published. This photo was taken at the 'roof deck' of NCAS building, UP Los BaƱos. I'm kind of happy that this was the one they chose because this shot required a looooooot of effort to produce. Special thanks to Aira Kissa Edduba for agreeing to be our model teehee :D Our efforts paid off!
On the other hand, i still think that the rest of the photos that we produced are as good as the first photo. I mean, look at this photo of my dead body reflected on the mirror! This photo was just nothing to me until I finished post-processing it. I can barely look at it now! I still get the chills whenever I see this photo :\
Here's the rest of the photoset.
I hope we were able to give you an idea how it feels like to be depressed (as told by our source). Next time you encounter someone going through depression, extend help by initiating a conversation. Be that person who will tell them it's alright.
They don't need judgments, they need conversations.
